Motorcycle lands on rider after driving mishap, Manchester police



MANCHESTER – A motorcycle landed on top of the rider who lost control of the bike while practicing riding maneuvers Sunday in an asphalt parking lot in front of the high school, police said.

Anthony Spatola, 60, of Toms River, collided with a curb around 11 a.m. and was ejected from the Harley Davidson motorcycle before it landed on top of him, police said. Spatola was briefly trapped under the bike until a witness helped get the bike off of him, police said.

Spatola, who was riding alone at the time, was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River with injuries to his mouth and rib cage, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said
